Maruti XL6 vs Ertiga; What Changes Can You Expect?

India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch their premium version of Ertiga by the name of XL6 in the Indian market on 21st August. This new vehicle by the company will be an upmarket version of the MPV that has been setting the sales charts on fire in the MPV segment in the Indian market. Although, this upcoming MUV will be based on the Ertiga MPV, it will come with enough major changes to distinguish it in the market. Therefore, the question regarding the changes that one will see in the upcoming MUV is only natural. Hence, we have complied a list of the possible changes one will get to see in the this latest relatively premium offering from the brand.

Comfort

This is the first and foremost change one can expect to see on the latest vehicle from the brand. The current Ertiga sold in the market is a 7-seater car, but in order to keep the cabin spacious and more upmarket the maker will offer six seats on the XL6. These seats will be offered in the 2-2-2 layout and will comprise of captain seats in the middle row. This will be something similar to what is seen on the Toyota Innova Crysta in the Indian market. In order to up the upmarket quotient of the MUV, Maruti Suzuki will also offer leather wrapped seats in the XL6.

Exteriors

Maruti Suzuki recently released the sketches for the XL6 and it is via these sketches that one can deduce that the latest offering from the brand will come with LED elements. The LED lights are expected to be used in the headlamps as well as the tail lamps of the XL6. Talking of the exteriors, the dimensions of the XL6 were also recently leaked online. These show that although the wheelbase of the MUV will not change owing to the higher cost of change in chassis, the length width and height of the MUV will go up. The XL6 will be 50mm longer, 40mm wider and 10 mm taller than the Ertiga sold in market currently. This will mean that one can expect oodles of space inside the XL6. The exterior design as well as the stance of the XL6 will also change as compared to Ertiga in order to distinguish it from the latter and offer the customers a more attractive looking package.

Other Changes

The new XL6 is also supposed to be more premium from inside. Apart from the increased space and the presence of captain seats in the MUV, one can also expect to see the usage of premium materials inside the car. This will give the cabin an upmarket feel and will also keep the experience inside the XL6 different than that of Ertiga MPV. Lastly, the new XL6 will also be sold via the more premium NEXA dealerships of the brand, unlike the Ertiga MPV which is sold via Arena dealerships.
