Chinese automaker CFMoto is preparing for its second innings in India in July albeit with a different strategy. The Indian motorcycle enthusiasts will get to see four new launches from the company in the coming month. Talking about the company, CFMoto is a Beijing-based enterprise famous for its motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, side-by-side utility vehicles, engines, and other mechanical components.

Coming to the new bikes, the company will launch four motorcycles in India on 4 July. Three will be in the 650-cc category while the most affordable offering will be a 300-cc segment bike. In a bid to improve its service and sales network in the country, CFMoto is opening dealerships across various cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Mumbai, Goa, and Pune. However, in a vast market such as India, just a few dealerships across Tier I cities are not enough for any company to gain countrywide presence. Realizing this, the manufacturer has joined hands with Bengaluru-based AMW Motorcycles.

For those wondering about its first innings, CFMoto tried to enter India in 2016 in partnership with Eider Motors but the latter was declared a fraudulent company, delaying the entry Chinese company in India.

The four new bikes have been named 300NK, 650NK, 650MT, and 650GT. These will be imported to India via the Completely Knocked Down route and hence the specifications are likely to match international versions of these bikes.

In the global versions, CFMoto 650NK, 650MT and 650GT are all powered by 649.3-cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. However, it has been tuned specifically for each bike according to their purpose. For instance, 650NK is a naked bike with a power output of 60 Bhp power and 56 Nm torque. On the other hand, 650MT is an adventure tourer motorcycle. Here, the same engine generates 69 Bhp power and 62 Nm torque. Meanwhile, the 650GT is a tourer and come with power figure of 62 Bhp and torque of 58.5 Nm.

The naked 300NK will be the cheapest option among the four bikes. It is powered by a 292.4cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 34 Bhp power and 20.5Nm torque. It has an aggressive design and features an all-digital instrument console. It will take on KTM 250 Duke and Honda CB 300R upon its launch in India.

These bikes will be manufactured at a plant in Bengaluru. It has the production capacity of 10,000 units per annum. Pricing will play an important part of the company has to be successful in India. Smaller models like the 300NK can be a hit if priced well and aftersales support is good. In recent times, the Indian market has move more toward affordable performance motorcycles rather than commuter bikes and hence this is the right time for CFMoto to enter the market.
