BYD India has announced that the Seal electric sedan has acquired more than 1,000 bookings since its official launch in the Indian market in March 2024. The automaker previously revealed that the electric sedan acquired the first 500 bookings milestone within 15 days of its launch. The BYD Seal is the third and most costly EV from the Chinese electric car manufacturer in the country. The EV maker launched the BYD Seal in the Indian market on March 5, 2024, as a performance e-sedan. 

The BYD Seal electric sedan comes in three variants: dynamic, performance, and premium. The EV is available at a starting price of INR 41 lakh, and it goes up to INR 53 lakh (ex-showroom). The sedan provides a certified range of up to 650 km on one charge. The auto giant commenced bookings for the Seal EV on the same day. BYD also provided benefits incorporating a 3-kW portable charging box, a 7-kW home charger and installation service, 6 years of roadside assistance, and one free inspection service for bookings made before April 1, 2024.

The BYD Seal EV comes loaded with updated features such as a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, connected car features, twin-zone automatic climate control, a fixed panoramic sunroof, dual wireless charging ports, and more. In terms of safety features, the Seal is packed with nine airbags as standard, a tyre pressure monitoring system, blind spot monitoring, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, and level-2 ADAS technology.

The Seal EV variants come equipped with both dual and single-motor options. The brand also offers two battery packs with the sedan. The top-end Performance variant comes equipped with all-wheel drive technology, whereas the mid-spec Premium variant and entry-level Dynamic are packed with rear-wheel drive technology. The Seal Dynamic variant features a 61.4 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 510 km on one charge. The Seal Performance and Premium variants feature a bigger 82.56 kWh battery set that provides a range of 650 km on one charge.
