Mahindra & Mahindra has officially commenced the bookings of 2020 BS6 Mahindra Scorpio with a token amount of Rs 5,000. The price of the updated Scorpio is not out yet but it is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12 Lakhs - Rs 18 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The BS6 Mahindra Scorpio will be offered in 4 trims - S5, S7, S9, and S11. In terms of design, it will be underpinned by a freshly updated ladder-frame chassis for the first time. It is likely to get new body panels and the design will sport the upright silhouette that has defined the SUV since it was first launched in 2002.

Interior of BS6 Mahindra Scorpio will boast of a fresh dashboard design dominated by a large touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV is expected to share a lot of equipment with that of Mahindra Marazzo such as a multi-function steering wheel and other connectivity features. It will discontinue the side-facing rear third-row of seats in order to meet the latest safety norms.

Under the skin, the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio draws power from the same 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine which generates an output of 140bhp @, 3750rpm and highest torque performance of 320Nm between 1500-2800rpm. The base S5 variant would be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission while the remaining three variants should be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
