BS6 Ducati Multistrada 950 S will be launched on November 2, 2020 with bookings already open at Rs 1 Lakh

Ducati is enhancing its product lineup in India with the launch of Multistrada 950 S on November 2, 2020. This is the third bike launch in the country by Ducati in 2020 after Panigale V2 and Scrambler 1100 Pro. Ahead of its smallest multi-bike launch, the Italian bike manufacturer opened pre-booking at a token amount of Rs 1 Lakh. The BS6 Ducati Multistrada 950 price in India will be revealed during the launch event while the deliveries will commence in the first week of November. The bike was scheduled to arrive in the first half of 2020 but the COVID-19 outbreak dented the plans. Once launched, it will compete against Triumph Tiger 900 in the Indian market. The BS6 compliant Multistrada 950 S will be available in two colours options: Ducati Red and Glossy Grey.

The frame of the bike consists of a front trellis with large diameter tubes. The two cast side subframes are surrounded by a rear support element which is made of fibre engineering plastic that helps in maintaining maximum torsional rigidity. The new BS6 Multistrada 950 S comes with a ground clearance of 183.5 mm and wheelbase of 1,594mm. The bike is more load-balanced with the double-sided swinging arm which is lighter as it is made of shell-cast aluminium.  The ADV comes with full-LED headlights instead of the traditional lamp style headlight. The bike comes with a high-resolution colour TFT instrument panel. You can read out the riding data even in sunlight. The upcoming bike supports Ducati Link app which helps the rider in customizing the travel modes. One can also control various parameters such as ABS and traction control using the smartphone.

Talking about the performance, it is more aerodynamically streamlined in comparison to its standard Multistrada 950 variant. The Upcoming BS6 Multistrada 950 S borrows the side wings from its more powerful 1260 sibling. BS6 Ducati Multistrada 950 S is powered by a Testastretta 937 cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine. The bike delivers an impressive 111bhp of maximum power output and 96Nm of peak torque at 7750rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

Safety features onboard the new bike are vehicle hold control (VHC), Ducati traction control (DTC), Bosch ABS Cornering and electronic Ducati Skyhook Suspension among others. In the American market, Multistrada 950 S retails at $17,895 or Rs 13.19 Lakhs. Expect the manufacturer to price the Multistrada 950 S around 18 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).
