Bajaj Auto has silently updated its popular RS200 faired sports motorcycle to BS6 emission specifications. When compared to the BS4 model, the BS6 RS200 gets a price hike of up to Rs 3,000. Therefore BS6 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Twin ABS is now priced at Rs 1.45 lakhs (ex-showroom).
According to a media report, Bajaj has introduced a dual-channel variant of RS200. Dubbed as ‘Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Twin ABS’, the new variant is slightly more expensive than the regular single-channel ABS range. With the new ABS update, the RS200 will be a safer motorcycle to ride in some tough conditions.
Compared to the BS4 counterpart, the new RS200 is slightly refreshed in terms of design. The fully-faired motorcycle continues to feature a dual-projector headlamp setup, part-digital instrument cluster, LED tail lamp and turn indicators. The suspension duties are taken care by a telescopic front fork and a mono-shock suspension towards the rear with adjustment for preload damping. The RS200 gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends shod with MRF Nylogrip tyres.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 BS6 model continues to source power from the same 199.5cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The engine delivers a maximum power output of 24.1 bhp @ 9,750 rpm and peak torque of 18.6Nm @ 8,000 rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
