The X3 xDrive30i SportX is being locally developed at BMW's Chennai facility

BMW India has launched the new 'SportX' variant of the X3 SUV at a starting price of Rs 56.50 Lakhs (ex. showroom) in the country. Being locally developed at the German luxury automaker's Chennai facility, BMW X3 xDrive30i SportX will be on sale at dealerships from today onwards. The new petrol variant comes loaded with a myriad of striking features. With bookings open from today, BMW X3 SportX will compete against the likes of Audi Q5, Mercedes Benz GLS, Volvo XC60 and Jaguar F-PACE in the Indian market.


Speaking of BMW X3 xDrive30i SportX, it flaunts the signature double kidney grille upfront with LED headlamps and LED fog lamps. Some of the other exterior elements include blacked out radiator front grille, two-tone underbody protection, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps, low-slung roof spoiler and twin chrome exhaust tail pipes. Furthermore, the automatic tailgate operation also comes as standard. As for colors, the SUV will be available in a total of four options in the form of Mineral White, Sophisto Grey, Black Sapphire and Phytonic Blue. The cabin upholstery choices on offer are Sensatec Canberra Beige and Sensatec Black. The doors boast of a ‘X’ logo with chrome treatment.


As for features, BMW X3 xDrive30i SportX gets large Panoramic sunroof, Rear window sunblind, Ambient lighting with Welcome light carpet, Automatic 3 zone A/C, 5.1-inch digital instrument cluster with analog dials, Parking Assistant with Rear View Camera and Hi-Fi loudspeaker as standard. The BMW Live Cockpit Plus comes with a premium equipment list in the form of an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 3D Navigation, Voice Command, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The safety features onboard are six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, ‘Automatic Differential Brakes/locks (ADB-X)’, extended ‘Dynamic Traction control (DTC)’, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.


Under the bonnet, BMW X3 xDrive30i SportX has a 2.0L 4-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine which generates maximum power output of 252bhp and peak torque of 350Nm. The engine is linked to an 8-speed automatic Steptronic sport transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The power is transmitted to all the four wheels via the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system. BMW Efficient Dynamics also forms the part of standard equipment list while it comes with several features like Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, 50:50 Weight Distribution and Electronic Power Steering. There are four driving modes available with the SUV namely ECOPRO, COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+.


The customers booking the SportX variant online through BMW Online Shop before 28 February 2021 mid-night will enjoy early-bird benefits worth up to Rs 1.50 lakh which includes BMW Service Inclusive Package and exclusively curated BMW Accessories Package. The former covers all maintenance work, including any BMW Original Parts and oil requirements for 3 year/ 40,000 kms while the latter comes with an array of accessories such as BMW Display key, 2.5 PM air filter, LED door projectors and universal wireless charger. In fact, the company is offering Service Inclusive and Service Inclusive Plus plans with the new variant. The plans range from 3 yrs/40,000 kms to 10 yrs/2,00,000 kms.
