BMW India has launched the X1 20i Tech Edition at a sticker price of Rs 43 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. Being locally developed at BMW Group Plant in Chennai, it will be available in limited numbers with booking now open online at the brand's official website. BMW X1 20i Tech Edition is offered in two color choices namely Alpine White and Phytonic Blue with Sensatec Oyster Black upholstery. This exclusive edition can be availed at an EMI of Rs 34,999 along with assured buyback of up to 4 years.


As for styling, BMW X1 20i Tech Edition flaunts larger kidney grille and air intakes with LED headlights and LED fog lamps upfront. It rides on newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels which are complemented by a dynamic wedge shape formed by the roofline. The rear end boasts of wrap-around LED tail lights and twin exhaust tailpipes. The cabin gets a new high-resolution 10.25-inch Central Information Display with iDrive Controller, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Navigation with touch functionality. Other notable features include Wireless Charging, Panoramic Glass Roof, BMW Head-Up Display, Ambient Lighting, Electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, Reclining rear seat backrest, 205W HiFi loudspeaker system, Centre rear armrest with 2-cup holders, Park Distance Control and Rear-View Camera.


BMW X1 20i Tech Edition has a boot capacity of 500 litres which can be further extended to 1550 litres by folding down the rear seats which come with 40:20:40 function. Under the bonnet, it has a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. This engine is also at the helm of BMW X1 sDrive20i while it produces top power of 192 bhp and peak torque of 280 Nm. The engine is linked to a 7-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and cruise control which comes with braking function as standard. The SUV is also equipped with Launch Control feature and Driving Experience Control switch which offers four driving modes namely ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport.


As far as safety features are concerned, BMW X1 20i Tech Edition comes loaded with six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold and ISOFIX child seat mounting. The SUV is also available with BMW's ‘Drive Now Pay Later’ offer with no EMI’s for the first 3 months.
