BMW Motorrad India releases R 18 Cruiser Motorcycle details.

Amidst the gloom of Coronavirus Pandemic, we have some good news for the bike enthusiasts in India. BMW Motorrad India has listed R 18 Cruiser Motorcycle on its website. Earlier, this month BMW opted for the digital unveiling of V-twin boxer engine powered 2021 R18 Cruiser Motorcycle. With the listing of R 18 Cruiser Motorcycle, we can expect the official launch to take place in the coming few days. Before the prices are announced, some dealerships have already started to take bookings for the R18 Cruiser Motorcycle. We believe customization options are also available.

BMW R18 Cruiser Motorcycle is a retro-styled cruiser, it’s something different from the usual BMW offerings. The double-cradle steel frame covers the powerful, almost a century-old V-Twin engine. The visual appeal of the R 18 Cruiser Motorcycle is accentuated by the presence of tear-drop shaped fuel tank, rounded all-LED headlamp and use of chrome. BMW R5 produced in the 1930's serves as an inspiration for the BMW R18 Cruiser motorcycle.

BMW R 18 Cruiser motorcycle is powered by an 1802 cc Air/oil-cooled two-cylinder four-stroke boxer engine. It generates 90 bhp of maximum power and 158 Nm of peak torque as it comes mated to  a six-speed gearbox. As per the information on the official website, R18 can clock top speed of 180 kmph. Its suspension setup comprises of double-cradle steel frame with screwed-on under beams. Presence of telescopic fork upfront and steel swinging fork with central shock strut towards the rear complete the setup.

The BMW R18 Cruiser Motorcycle is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakhs - Rs 26 lakhs (ex-showroom), India. When launched, it will compete against the likes of recently introduced BS6 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and Indian chief Darkhorse. Prices will be revealed in the coming days so keep watching this space closely. As for deliveries, they will most probably commence by 2020 end or early 2021 depending upon how the market recovers from Coronavirus Pandemic.
