The BMW 1-Series has been one of the most fun to drive hatchbacks. It is a rear-wheel drive hatchback with oodles of power on offer. However, it hasn't done quite well compared to its rivals. Specially in India, the BMW 1-Series couldn't get numbers to the German carmaker in spite of being the most affordable in the lineup. However, the Australian market gets a BMW M140i Finale edition to say goodbye.

BMW will be introducing the next generation 1-Series soon that will come with drastic design changes and huge mechanical updates. The biggest disappointment for car enthusiasts will be the discontinuation of the current gen rear-wheel drive hatchback. The BMW M140i Finale edition has been launched in Australia for such enthusiasts, priced from AUD 62,990 (Rs. 31.7 lakhs).

It comes with sporty styling elements such as dark headlights, 18-inch black alloys, gloss black grille, black chrome tailpipes, etc. The interiors also get a few tweaks and additionally the Finale special edition comes with Storage Compartment Package, electric glass sunroof and wireless smartphone charging features.

The BMW M140i is powered by a 3.0-litre straight six TwinPower Turbo engine that produces a maximum power output of 340 PS with a peak torque output of 500 Nm. This engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission that channels all the power to the rear wheels of the hatchbak. Such amount of power means 0-100 km/hr in 4.6 seconds.
