BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition is limited to 24 units only

BMW has introduced a new Limited-Edition model of its BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in India. Dubbed as the 'Black Shadow Edition', it is priced at Rs 42.30 lakhs (ex-showroom). The special edition Rs 3 lakh more expensive than BMW’s Sport Line variant of the regular 2 Series Gran Coupe. This particular variant is just limited to 24 units. It will go on sale from December 7, 2020.

In terms of design, the special edition 2 Series Gran coupe features a new blacked-out mesh-pattern BMW kidney grille upfront. In addition, it gets full-LED headlamps. Other design bits include black wing mirror caps, darkened chrome finish for the exhaust pipe finishers, and black-finished boot lip spoiler from BMW’s M Performance parts. On the sides, it gets 18-inch M Performance Y-Spoke Styling 554 M forged wheels in Jet Black Matt finish. These further come with a BMW Floating hub cap that features the BMW logo.

“The first-ever BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé perfectly blends the comfort of a sedan and the sportiness of a coupé. The new ‘Black Shadow’ edition with BMW ‘M’ Performance parts offers an excellent athletic edge which further enhances the sporty character of the car in all aspects. Designed with a focus on dynamics, it demonstrates powerful uniqueness tailored to suit the requirements of motorsport enthusiastic customers. Available in limited units, the ‘Black Shadow’ edition offers our discerning customers an exclusive opportunity to own the latest BMW four-door coupé,” commented Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India on the occasion of the launch.

The cabin of the Black Shadow Edition remains unchanged. However, it gets newly designed Sport Seats with electrical memory function. Furthermore, it also offers ambient lighting and illuminated trim that functions as a decorative lighting element with a space-shaping effect in the dark. Other highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay, 2-zone climate controls, 12.3-inch digital instrument display among many others.

The safety kit of the 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition comprises six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, ABS with Brake Assist, ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation system), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) & Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer & crash sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.

Under the hood, the car is powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 187 bhp power and 400 Nm torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic gearbox as standard. Further, it comes with launch control, steering wheel paddle shifters and cruise control with braking function. Its Driving Experience Control switch offers different driving modes to suit individual driving styles like ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport. The 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow Edition is offered in two colour options – Alpine White and Black Sapphire.
