BMW India is all set to launch the 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift tomorrow in the country. The updated version of the sedan made its global debut last year. It comes with a refreshed design and more equipment.
Cosmetically, the 2021 6 Series GT features BMW’s signature ’kidney’ grille upfront. In addition, it gets sharper LED headlamps, new front & rear bumpers, an active rear spoiler, and new tail lamps. The updated model retains the silhouette of the outgoing model.
Moving inside the cabin of the 2021 6 Series GT, it largely remains unchanged. The main feature highlight is the larger 12.3-inch infotainment system with BMW’s latest software that replaces the 10.25-inch unit. Besides this, the facelifted version of the 6 Series GT will get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a four-zone automatic climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system among many others.
Under the bonnet, the 6 Series GT currently on sale in India is offered with three engine options- 2.0-litre petrol, 2.0-litre diesel, and a 3.0-litre diesel. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol motor in the 630i churns out 258 bhp power while the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel unit in 620d belts out 190 bhp power. The 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine, on the other hand, generates 265 bhp power in 630d. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is offered as standard. The 2021 6 Series GT facelift is expected to get all three powertrain options. However, it is still not sure if the model will get the electrified version as present in the facelifted model for the International market.
