Today, BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine has been launched between the price range of Rs 51.50 - Rs 53.90 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.

The new model is essentially the long-wheelbase version of BMW’s popular luxury sedan - 3 Series. Bookings had already commenced for an initial amount of Rs 50,000 from January 11, 2021, with the new model replacing the discontinued BMW 3 Series GT in the country. Also, the German automaker was offering complimentary rear seat BMW Comfort Package worth Rs 1 lakh to the first 50 bookings done before 12 pm today (21st January).

The package comes with iPad, iPad holder and a coat hanger. It will be sold in three variants - the 320Ld Luxury Line, 330Li Luxury Line, and the 330Li M Sport. Plus, the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine will retail in two trims namely Luxury Line and M Sport Package.

The limousine is available in 4 colour options - Carbon Black metallic, Cashmere Silver metallic, Melbourne Red metallic and Mineral White metallic. Additionally, buyers can choose from two interior upholstery packages. BMW's importance to the Indian market is quite evident as it is the first right-hand-drive market to get the long-wheelbase 3 Series.

BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine's wheelbase is 110mm longer than the regular 3 series currently selling in the Indian market. With the increase in wheelbase, there is extra rear legroom for its occupants. Also, it is the longest in dimension in its segment in the country.

Apart from the longer wheelbase, it is identical to the 3 series sedan in terms of design and styling. At the front, buyers can look forward to a kidney grille, dual BMW signature LED headlamps housing U-shaped DRLS and a sportier bumper.

There is a lot of chrome influence on the bumper giving it a premium feel. The limousine rides on 17-inch V-spoke alloy wheels which are also present on the current 3 series model. The rear door size has been increased by 110 mm which differentiates it from the standard model.

Even the rear profile remains unchanged with key highlights being chrome inserts, twin L-shaped LED taillights and dual exhaust tailpipes.

Moving to the interiors, the extra legroom space for the rear occupants stands out in comparison to the standard 3 series model. The buyer can look forward to features like a 10.25-inch i-drive touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 464 W - 16 speakers Harman Kardon Surround Sound system, multi-zone climate control among many others.

The presence of a panoramic sunroof separates the limousine model from the standard 3 series model. Also, the M-sport First Edition boasts of exclusive features like gesture control, comfort access, head-up display, and surround-view cameras with a 360-degree view.

Talking about performance, the BMW 3 Series Limousine comes equipped with two engine options - a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel mill.

The former belts out 258 bhp of power output and latter deliver a power figure of 190 bhp. Both engines are paired to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.
