Bajaj Platina 100 ES Disc Brake Variant Launched at Rs 60,698

Baja Auto has recently expanded its product line up by launching the Platina 100 ES Disc Brake variant at Rs 60,698 (ex-showroom). This particular variant is Rs 2221 costlier than the Drum Brake trim. The Drum Brake variant is currently available at Rs 58,477 (ex-showroom). Bookings along with the delivery of the motorcycle have begun at respective dealerships across the country.

Dimensionally, the Platina 100 ES measures 2006 mm in length, 713 mm in width, and 1100 mm in height. Cosmetically, the motorcycle gets an attractive headlamp with a small visor upfront. In addition, it also gets LED DRLs. The bike runs on alloy wheels with tube-type tyres. Furthermore, it also gets blacked-out exhaust with a chrome heat shield and rubber footpad. The seat is 9 percent longer than the other bikes in its segment. The new Disc Brake variant is available in two color options namely Red and Black. 

Mechanically, the motorcycle draws its power from the same BS6 complaint 102cc single-cylinder engine that powers the other two variants. The motor produces 7.9 bhp power and 8.34 Nm peak torque while being mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The new Platina 100 ES disc brake variant gets a 240 mm front disc and a 110 mm drum brake with Anti-Skid Braking System towards the rear alongside CBS. Thus the inclusion of a disc brake in the front has slightly increased the kerb weight of the new Platina 100 ES. The Disc Brake variant weighs 119 kgs and is 1.5 kg heavier than the Drum Brake variant. The bike has a ground clearance of 200 mm and claims to have a top speed of 90 kmph.
