Bajaj Platina 100 Disc Variant Launching Soon

Bajaj Auto India is all set to launch a disc brake variant of the Platina 100 ES in the country. Presently, the 100cc commuter motorcycle is available in two trim levels namely, Kick Start (KS) and Electric Start (ES) at prices of Rs 49,261 and Rs 55,546 (Both prices are Ex. Showroom), respectively. Though, the company has not yet listed the new Bajaj Platina 100 disc variant on the official website but it is believed to be launching soon. Besides the inclusion of disc brake, the new variant will not feature any cosmetic or mechanical updates.

Currently, both the variants of the Platina 100 boast of a 130mm drum front brake and a 110mm drum rear brake with the Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard. However, the upcoming Bajaj Platina 100 disc variant might borrow the 240mm front disc brake from the Platina 110 H Gear. The addition of a disc brake variant will provide buyers more options to choose from the Platina range. The styling and features of the new disc brake variant are expected to be the same as the other two non-disc variants. In all likelihood, it will get the same bells and whistles in the form of LED DRL, Headlamp with a small visor, Alloy wheels with tube-type tyres, Blacked-out exhaust with chrome heat shield, long seat and rubber foot pads as standard.

The suspension duties will be helmed by 135mm telescopic forks at front and 110mm twin SNS forks at the rear. Bajaj Platina 100 Disc will be powered by the same BS6 compliant 102cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which will generate maximum power output of 7.9bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque performance of 8.34Nm at 5500rpm. The engine will be linked to a 4-speed gearbox. The Platina 100 is challenged by the likes of Hero HF Deluxe and TVS Sport in the Indian market. The disc brake variant is expected to be the flagship variant in the Platina range while it could be priced at Rs 60,000 (Ex. Showroom). Stay tuned for more updates on the same!
