Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has received the first hike in the Indian market. The hike is on both the variants namely Urbane and Premium. The more affordable Urbane received a price hike of Rs 15,000 and now carries a price tag of Rs 1.15 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Premium variant retails at Rs 1.20 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) after a hike of Rs 5,000. The Urbane variant comes equipped with drum brakes, while being available in two colours - Citrus Rush and Cyber White. On the other hand, the Premium variant comes loaded with a front disc brake and rear drum brake while sold in a total of four colour options- Velutto Rosso, Indigo Metallic, Hazelnut, and Brooklyn Black. Bajaj Chetak competes against Ather 450 Plus (Rs 1.28 lakh) and TVS iQube in the Indian market.


The Bajaj Chetak e-scooter comes loaded with features like a Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument console, Intelligent Braking Management System and regenerative braking. The electric scooter flaunts a full metallic body with all-LED lighting. Additionally, it is equipped with sequential pattern turn signals at the rear. Bajaj Chetak e-scooter rides on a set of inch 12-inch wheels. 


Bajaj Chetak is powered by an IP67 rated 3 kWh lithium-ion battery. The scooter houses a 4 kW electric motor which delivers 5bhp of maximum power output and 16Nm of peak torque. It offers two modes namely Eco and Sport. The former delivers 85 km of range while the latter provides 95 km on a single full charge. The manufacturer claims the battery offers 70,000 kms of life. The battery takes 5 hours to get fully recharged to 100 percent. The suspension duties are taken care of by a single-sided trail link unit upfront and a single-shock rear suspension system.
