Audi Q2 will be the company's fifth launch this year in India

Audi India has announced the launch of Q2 SUV on October 16, 2020 in the country. Being the German luxury automaker's fifth launch this year in the Indian market, Audi Q2 will be the entry-level SUV in its product portfolio. The bookings for Q2 started a couple of days back at an initial amount of Rs 2 Lakhs on the official company website and all Audi India dealerships. Audi is offering a ‘Peace of Mind’ introductory offer with the SUV which includes 5 years Comprehensive Service Package, 2+3 years Extended Warranty and 2+3 years Roadside Assistance.

Underpinning Volkswagen Group's MQB architecture, Audi Q2 measures 4191mm in length, 1794mm in width and 1580mm in height while having a wheelbase of 2601mm. Recently, the company unveiled the Q2 facelift for various global markets but India will get the pre-facelifted version of the SUV. Some of the Audi Q2 features will include LED headlights, leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, sunroof, ambient lighting and reverse camera. As far as safety features are concerned, it will boast of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, seat-belt warning system and high-speed alert system as standard. Initially, the SUV will be sold as CBU in the Indian market.

Under the bonnet, Audi Q2 will have a BS6 compliant 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine which will deliver a top power of 190bhp and peak torque of 320Nm while linked to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It will also get Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system as a standard fitment. The company might launch the diesel-powered variants at a later stage. Audi Q2 price in India could be around Rs 35 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) as it will be direct import. The SUV will not have any direct rivals in the Indian market as Mercedes Benz has not launched the second-gen GLA yet while BMW X1 is bigger in size.
