Audi India to Increase Prices of its Entire Product Range

Audi India has announced a price hike of up to 2 percent on its entire product portfolio in the country. The increase in price will be effective on all models from January 2021. During these challenging times, it has been tough for the automaker to contain costs and make good profits. Also, due to the diminishing value of the rupee and the rising input cost, the brand took this decision of increasing the price of its entire car and SUV range. The German automaker has introduced a total of six new models in 2020 itself. These include the names of Q8, A8L, RS7, RS Q8, Q8 Celebration, and the most recent Q2 SUV. Furthermore, the brand has also teased the S5 Sportback that is expected to launch in the market in the coming weeks. 

"At Audi India, we strive to give our customers the best, but the rising inputs costs and currency fluctuations have put a strain on our cost structures and we are forced to make amends to prices. Starting January 01, 2021, our model range will see a price revision of up to 2%. While we have tried to absorb the impact at various levels, the current situation necessitates an increase in price for sustainable growth," commented Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India at the time of the announcement. 

To kickstart the festive season, Audi had introduced the Q8 Celebration Edition at an introductory price of Rs 98.98 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. This Celebration Edition is Rs 34 lakhs cheaper than the standard Audi Q8. Furthermore, Audi’s latest launch in the market, the All-New Audi Q2 is offered at a starting price of Rs 34.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). This entry-level offering from Audi is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 90 bhp power and 320 Nm torque. This engine is further mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission. It also gets Audi’s Quattro AWD as a standard fitment. The brand has also announced a ‘Peace of Mind’ package with the newly launched Q2. The package includes 5 years of roadside assistance, 2+3 years of the extended warranty, and 5 years of service package.
