Audi India Extends Warranties

News Highlights

  • Customers are facing challenges due to the lockdown
  • Recently, Mercedes Benz also announced similar initiatives for customers
  • Audi had two new launches this year - A4 facelift and S5 Sportback

Audi India has announced an extension on Standard warranty, Extended warranty and Service plans for its customers in the country. For all Audi customers whose Standard Warranty, Extended Warranty and Service Plans were set to expire during the lockdown periods of April, May and June 2021, an extension of their policy till 30th June 2021 will be applied. A couple of days back, Mercedes Benz India had also announced a similar extension on warranties and services as customers are facing challenges due to the lockdown in various states.

Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “Safety is of paramount importance to Audi India. In line with the need of the hour of staying home and staying safe, we are rolling out extensions on Standard Warranty, Extended Warranty and Service Plans for existing Audi customers until June 30, 2021. Audi customers can be rest assured that they have the opportunity to extend their plans and receive seamless services for their Audi cars.” The German luxury automaker has had a couple of new product launches in the Indian market till now in the form of the Audi A4 facelift and Audi A5 Sportback. It is due to launch at least half a dozen more new cars in the country this year.

As far as sales numbers are concerned, Audi India has slipped to the third position after Mercedes Benz and BMW in the luxury vehicle segment. Presently, the brand has eight models on sale in India namely A4, A6, RS7, A8L, Q2, Q8, RS Q8 and S5. Three of its most popular SUVs in the country - the Q3, Q5 and Q7 - have not been launched yet with a BS6 compliant engine. Moreover, the entry-level A3 sedan has also not been introduced yet with the updated powertrain. It is also one of the reasons for Audi's low sales numbers that four of its most prominent products have not been on sale for the past one year or so. We expect Audi to launch the Q Series SUVs and the A3 this year itself in the Indian market.
