Audi appoints Oliver Hoffmann.

Oliver Hoffmann joins Audi Sport as development head; he will be in charge of technical development at Audi Sport, the manufacturer’s performance car branch. Hoffmann will look after the expansion of the Audi Sport line-up from the current 11 models, to an expected 16 models by 2020.

Being an engineer at Audi, Hoffmann took on many roles, one of which included the development of the V10 engine used by the R8. Oliver’s previous work experience includes engine development at Audi’s factory in Hungary and quality management at Lamborghini in Italy. The RS Q5 and the RS Q8 will be among the six upcoming models under Hoffman’s technical leadership.

Stephan Winkelmann, chairman of Audi Sport was quoted saying, “With the appointment of Oliver Hoffmann, we have gained a highly qualified manager for the technical development division. With his experience and skills, Hoffmann will help to realise the expansion of the Audi Sport brand.”

Oliver Hoffman succeeds Stephan Reil, who was responsible for the development of all-new models at Audi Sport since the launch of the Audi RS 4 Avant in 1999.
