Ampere electric, a domestic electric scooter manufacturer launched the Reo Elite electric scooter at an ex-showroom price of Rs 45,099.

Customers can now book the electric scooter for a token amount of mere Rs.1999 via Ampere’s website and also through dealerships in Bangalore. The EV scooter is the first product after the Greaves Cotton bought the stakes of the Coimbatore-based EV manufacturer and made it a subsidiary company.

The EV scooter is powered by a 48V-20Ah lead-acid battery that has a range of 55-65km as per the company claims. The battery powers the 250W motor that can push the Reo Elite to a top speed of 25kph. A top speed of 25km/hr means that you do need a license or registration number to ride it. The scooter weighs just 86 kgs due to which it is quite easy to maneuver it.

The CEO of the Greaves Cotton, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli commented “Through Ampere we are focused on building a portfolio of world-class, made-in-India and clean mobility solutions. With extensive Greaves Retail network and exclusive Ampere showrooms, we are well on course to making our electric vehicles available across. With successes in the electric two-wheeler segment, Greaves has metamorphosed into complete auto ecosystem player with a comprehensive offering of products and services that straddle both ICE and EV segments.”

The COO of the company Mr. P Sanjeev said “Ampere Vehicles added, “We are constantly transforming our products with technological innovations and improving customer experience with easy access and strong aftermarket support. Reo Elite electric scooter stands for comfort, class, style and will be a smart solution to affordable commute for millions of Indians.
