Hyundai has globally unveiled the high-performance all-new Kona N in South Korea. It happens to be the brand's first N model with an SUV body style. The company intends to expand N lineup to 18 models through 2022. Hyundai has not introduced the N range of performance-oriented vehicles in the Indian market as of now. Though, several units of Hyundai i20 N have been spotted several times in the country. Presently, Hyundai Kona is sold in an all-electric avatar in India to rival MG ZS EV and Tata Nexon electric.

Speaking of styling, Hyundai Kona N is presented in a newly developed N-exclusive Sonic Blue exterior color while it flaunts body-colored fenders. The SUV rides on N-specific 19-inch wheels. The rear profile boasts a double-wing roof spoiler and N-specific triangular brake light. The cabin also gets Blue theme on seats, steering wheel, shift knob and metal pedals. The features include an all digital instrument cluster with an exclusive racing head-up display (HUD), 10-inch infotainment system with lap time & N track maps, and N Road Sense. Also, traction control, Bluetooth multi-connection support and an enhanced natural language voice recognition system come as standard features.

As for safety, Hyundai Kona N is equipped with a myriad of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Alert (RCCA), Safe Exit Warning (SEW) and Smart Cruise Control (SCC). Under the bonnet, it has a 2.0L turbocharged GDI engine which produces 275bhp of top power which can be further extended to 285bhpby using N Grin Shift. The peak torque performance stands at 392Nm while paired to an 8-speed wet dual clutch transmission (N DCT). There are five driving modes namely Eco, Normal, Sport, N and Custom.
