New-Gen Hyundai i20 India launch is finally taking place on the 5th of November, 2020. The popular premium hatchback is arriving with major updates in terms of design, styling, features and engine options. The car has been churning out good sale numbers in the domestic market for the South Korean automaker since its debut in 2012 and was due for a major overhaul. With the All-New i20 launch, Hyundai aims to garner market share in the competitive hatchback segment in India. It is arriving in the Indian market after its launch and introduction in the overseas markets. While we await the launch, dealerships across the country are accepting the i20's bookings at a token amount of Rs 21,000. All-New Hyundai i20 Expected Price in India

All-New Hyundai i20 is coming packed with new features, design elements and powertrains. Talking about the price, expect the 2020 Next-Gen Hyundai i20 to be priced at a premium of around Rs 60,000 - Rs 70,000 over its predecessor. Its outgoing model currently retails at Rs 6.56 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings are already opened at a token amount of Rs 21,000 with the price announcement to be shared on the launch date.


All-New Hyundai i20 Exterior Design

The All-New Hyundai i20 is aggressive and sharper looking in design compared to its predecessor. The upcoming premium hatchback follows Hyundai’s global design language - ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ which has influenced other models like the Hyundai Verna and Elantra. The front profile boasts of the all-new hexagonal grille, dual sleek headlamps with LED DRL’s while the fog lights are housed in a vertical casing. At the rear, the Korean manufacturer has added Z-shaped tail lights. The sporty look is further enhanced thanks to the presence of character lines on the bonnet. New-Gen i20 will ride on a new set of diamond-cut alloy wheels and feature ORVMs with LED turn indicators. 




All-New Hyundai i20 Interior Features

Its interior sees a major revamp in terms of features. To begin it has a brand new cabin layout. Elements like fabric upholstery, wireless charging, a 10.25-inch infotaintment cluster with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a fully-digital instrument cluster smart cruise control, driving assist system, ambient lighting, automatic climate control among many others make the interior totally new. It will be the first time that the premium hatchback is to be offered with an electric sunroof.


All-New Hyundai i20 Engine Options and Mileage

The All-New Hyundai i20 will come with three engine options - two petrol and one diesel. The powertrains on offer are the same currently powering the Hyundai Venue in India. They are a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engines. Talking about their expected mileage figures, the petrol 1.2 manual transmission is supposed to give 21 kmpl while on the other hand, the CVT unit will deliver 19.65 kmpl. The powerful 1.0 turbo petrol with iMT gearbox will return an expected mileage of 20 kmpl whereas the same powertrain with a Dual Clutch Transmission will provide 20.28 kmpl fuel economy. As for the diesel manual is should give 25 kmpl. All the mileage figures mentioned here are expected to be ARAI certified. 



All-New Hyundai i20 Colour Options and Competition in India

The All-New Hyundai i20 will be retailed in four variants namely Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O). The last one is the top-end model and will be packed to the brim in terms of features. The premium hatchback will come in six monotone colour options and two dual-tone shades. Thus the monotone colour schemes are Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and Metallic Cooper. On the other hand, Indian buyers will also get dual-tone colour options to choose from in the form of Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof. The Nex-Gen i20 will rival the likes of Maruti  Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo in its segment.
