News Highlights

  • Honda’s new cruiser motorcycle will rival Royal Enfield and Jawa models in the Indian market
  • The new bike will be powered by a 300-500 cc engine

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is upping the excitement with a new product launch on 30th September. Ahead of the expected launch, the two-wheeler giant has released a teaser video on various social media channels. Honda’s new bike will rival Royal Enfield’s popular cruiser bikes as well as Jawa Perak in the Indian market. We expect the upcoming Honda cruiser to be named as Highness because the manufacturer had filed a trademark for the name in India. Plus, the media invite also highlighted ‘Your Highness is arriving’, thus confirming the name for the new Honda motorcycle in India. The company hasn’t made any disclosure regarding the engine specifications as of now. Our guess is that the bike will be powered by a 300-500 cc engine and compete against Royal Enfield Bullet and Thunderbird range in the cruiser segment.

Honda Highness Invitation

Moving on-to the pricing, the upcoming Honda Highness Cruiser is expected to be retailed around Rs 2.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will make efforts to make the price competitive in order to eat into the market share of popular Royal Enfield bikes. The 2020 Honda Highness is based on the Rebel 300 which is currently sold in the International markets. The company has reworked on the global-spec Rebel for the Indian market like they did with Honda Hornet 2.0. It was based on the CB190R which is sold overseas. The manufacturer also released an audio teaser in which one can hear the sound of the upcoming bike's exhaust note. In terms of features, Indian buyers can look forward to a round headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank with the fully digital instrument cluster.

Honda Motorcycle Certificate

The new model will be available through Honda’s BigWing network, it’s an exclusive outlet for the sales and after-sales support of Honda’s 300 cc plus motorcycles.
