India-spec 2020 Honda City gets some significant changes in the interior; likely to be launched later this year.

Honda Cars India is all set to launch the Fifth-Generation City in India. Competing against the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Yaris, and Hyundai Verna, the All-New City is quite similar to the Thailand-spec model that was unveiled last year. It is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakhs - Rs 16 lakhs (ex-showroom). The company has already been spied testing the premium sedan on the Indian roads earlier this year. Recently, the interior details of the entry-level variant have been spied.

According to the spy shots, the 2020 Honda City will carry some major improvements over the last model. Compared to the previous generation, which had an asymmetric design for the dashboard, the All-New Honda City gets a new dash. The multifunction steering wheel offers a sportier feel. Unlike the older model, 2020 Honda City gets bigger AC vents along with vertical layouts. Other highlighted features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system offering Apple Carplay and Android Auto smartphone integration support. It also features an all-new twin-pod analog instrument console, MID screen, panoramic sunroof, and rear AC vents. The increase in length and wheelbase gives the 2020 Honda City an enhanced sense of space with more legroom and knee room. The cabin will boast of beige color upholstery in the top trim.

As for safety features, the 2020 Honda City comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, Cruise Control, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.

Under the hood, the All-New Honda City will pack a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that will produce 100 bhp power and 200 Nm torque. There will also be a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that would churn out 117 bhp power output with 145 Nm of peak torque. It is expected to be available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
