Tata has increased the pricing of the Hexa silently after the launch of Harrier

Tata Motors has silently increased the prices of the Hexa across its entire variant line-up by up to Rs. 42,000/- post the recent launch of the company’s premium SUV, Harrier. The Harrier is based on a platform which has been developed on Land Rover Discovery’s D8 architecture, and is priced from Rs.12.69 lakhs to Rs. 16.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).

The Hexa also falls in the same price bracket as the Harrier, but unlike its sibling, the Hexa is a 7-seater crossover MPV. The Hexa now gets a price increase of about Rs. 42,000/- for the base variant, XE while the rest of the variants get an approximate increase of Rs. 19,000/-.

The Tata Hexa now starts at a price of Rs.12.99 lakhs with the top-of-the-line variant retailing at Rs. 18.16 lakh. Before the launch of the Harrier, the Hexa started at Rs.12.57 lakh to Rs. 17.97 Lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India).

The Tata Hexa is powered by the Varicor engine that is available in two states of tune, the Varicor 320 and Varicor 400. The Varicor 320 powers the base variant, XE and produces 150 BHP of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque. Other variants are powered by the Varicor 400 that produces 156 BHP of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The Tata Harrier on the other hand gets a 2.0-litre, diesel engine sourced from Fiat mated to a 6-speed manual transmission which is capable of churning out 140 BHP of power along with 350 NM of peak torque.

The new pricing of the Hexa makes it Tata’s most expensive car on sale at the moment which is set to be changed with the launch of the seven-seat version of the Harrier later this year.
