Royal Enfield has launched one of the most awaited bikes, the Continental GT 650 in India. The bike draws many designs and styling elements from the Continental GT 535. The motorcycle is the flagship model of the company and it has been developed at the company's technology centre at Leicestershire, England. The Continental GT 650 will be available in five colour options – Black Magic, Ventura Blue, Ice Queen, Dr Mayhem and Mister Clean.
The Continental GT 650 comes with clip-on handlebars and single seater seat to maintain the café racer appearance. The seat height of the bike is at 793 mm. The bike’s fuel tank capacity is of 12.5-litres and the bike weighs 198 kg. The ground clearance of the bike is of 174 mm. This bike gets a 320 mm disc at the front and 240 mm disc at the rear and comes equipped with dual channel ABS as standard. The bike sits on 18-inch aluminium spoke rims which are wrapped around with Pirelli Phantom SportComp tyres. It gets 100/90 section tyre at front and 130/70 section at the rear. Royal Enfield is offering various accessories with the motorcycle.
The Continental GT 650 is powered by a 648cc, parallel twin, air and liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine. The engine is rated to produce 47 BHP of power and 52 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that comes with a slipper clutch. The Continental GT 650 is available for Rs. 2.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). The company has managed to price the bike very aggressively and hence there is no direct rival to the bike.
