The car is built on the same platform as the BMW X1, and is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine, which sits under the hood of the Cooper S and Cooper S JCW Inspired, is a 2.0-litre TwinPower turbo unit that makes 192hp and 280Nm.

The diesel, which powers the Cooper SD, is a 2.0-litre motor that makes 190hp and 400Nm. The engines send power via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. India will only get the front-wheel-drive versions of the car. You also get the latest iDrive infotainment system with a touchscreen.
