British supercar maker, Aston Martin has completely unveiled its DB11 Volante. The car uses the same AMG-sourced 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine that is seen in the regular DB11.
Aston claims that the new Volante is the company’s sportiest convertible model yet. The British carmaker says that the lighter V8 Engine rather than the heavier V12 improves the handling considerably. The V12 that can be had in the regular DB11, it is not available with the Volante at the moment however; it could be introduced at a later date. The V8 engine makes 510hp and 696Nm of torque; it is paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels.
In terms of weight, the Volante is 110kg more than its coupe sibling at 1,870kg. The folding soft-top is made up of eight layers and can be raised in 16 seconds, while taking 14 seconds to be lowered. It can be raised and lowered at speeds of up to 50kph.
At present, we only get the DB11 coupe with the V12 engine in India. There is no news regarding the launch or pricing of this model in India as yet.
