Hyundai Venue has been launched in the Indian market and the latest from the South Korean maker will lock horns with Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Honda WR-V, and Mahindra XUV300. The prices of the Hyundai Venue undercut several aforementioned rivals in the market and the company is betting big on the SUV. What the South Korean maker lost on time in the segment, it hopes to make up on the features aspect. While the company managed more than 2000 bookings on the very first day of the launch of the SUV, the dealers of Hyundai had started bookings for the SUV some time back and now the deliveries of the SUV will hopefully commence soon. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at several distinguishing features that the maker has loaded the car with so as to make it more appealing for the customers in the market.

The South Korean maker is offering a new 1 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine. This new engine comes with a 7-speed twin clutch gearbox and a 6 speed manual. This engine is by far the most powerful among the options of the SUV and as per the brand the 7-speed dual clutch transmission option of the turbo petrol unit can propel the SUV to a top speed of 187 kmph, which is very fast for a car in the segment. The 120 PS and 172 Nm of the turbo petrol engine can take the SUV from 0-60 kmph in just 5.1 seconds! As far as the other engines are concerned, there are two more options with the first one being a 1.2L petrol mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. The second one is a 1.4L turbo diesel engine mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox.

The South Korean maker claims that the latest form the brand will have the least maintenance cost in the segment. Although the brand refrained from mentioning any concrete numbers, it made it a point to state that other options in the segment are expensive to maintain when compared to their latest offering.

The perennial concern of the Indian customer about mileage has also been taken care by the company. The South Korean maker has stated that the 1.2L petrol engine rated for 82 Bhp and 115 Nm with a 5-speed manual gearbox is rated for a mileage figure of 17.52 kmpl. The turbo petrol option with a 3-pot configuration is rated for a power figure of 118 Bhp and 172 Nm. This comes in manual as well as automatic gearbox option and the while the manual version is rated for 18.27 kmpl the 7-speed Dual-Clutch automatic transmission is rated for 18.15 km/l. However, the mileage champ here is the 1.4L diesel engine. The unit comes only with a 6-speed manual transmission and is rated to deliver a mileage of 23.7 km/l.

Although loaded with features, the South Korean maker has managed to price the Venue variants in a manner where every customer has something to choose from. The base petrol model of the Venue starts at Rs. 6.53 lakh, this is the 1.2L petrol unit model. The 1L turbo petrol unit’s base model comes in at Rs. 8.21 lakhs. While the automatic range of the Venue starts at Rs. 9.35 lakh and is available with the same 1L turbo petrol engine. If the customers wish to choose a diesel model, then the base diesel model starts at Rs. 7.75 lakh.

Warranty on a car shows the makers’ confidence in their product and also offers peace of mind to the end customer. Hyundai Venue has a standard warranty of 3 years and unlimited kilometres on it, and this is a segment first feature. This warranty can be extended for 5 years as well. Not just warranty, but in the first three years of ownership, the customer also gets free RSA and e-SIM functionality.
