The makers have started focusing on the safety features of the cars manufactured India and the recent enforcement of the BNVSAP norms means that in the upcoming times, the cars in India are bound to get safer, at least more than before. After Nexon scoring a good score in the Global NCAP test, the latest car to join the club is the Honda Amaze sub-4 meter compact sedan. Amaze is manufactured in India and is exported to many global markets around the world. Global NCAP is the agency that conducts a standardized safety test on cars and publishes the results independently. The Honda Amaze sub-4 meter compact sedan managed to score a 4 star rating in the same test conducted by the agency, which is a good enough score for the segment, although the highest score that a car can receive is a 5 star rating.

The 4 star rating that the car received was for the adult occupant protection in the frontal crash test of the car. This test was conducted on the Africa-spec version of the Honda Amaze and it managed to get a 4 star safety rating. However, the Indian customers need not get confused as the standard equipment offered on the Africa-spec Honda Amaze are dual airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners and a driver seatbelt reminder.

All of these safety features are also standard on the Indian version of the car, and there are a few other features like speed alert system among other that are also standard on the Indian version apart from the aforementioned features. The speed used for the frontal crash test of the car was 64 kmph. The test was done with 40 per cent offset. G-NCAP also rated the car’s structure and footwell area as stable. Honda Amaze received 14.08 out of 17 points for adult safety and 8.16 out of 17 points for child safety.

However, what is to be noted here is that the child safety rating of the car was only 1 point. This is something that the maker would like to improve in the coming times as Honda’s cars are known for their reliability and build quality. Not to mention that the new safety features that have been made mandatory in India have indeed made even the base model of the car safer than before, as was demonstrated in this test. Apart from the safety rating, Honda Amaze is also a very popular car in the Indian market and the sales numbers of the sub-4 meter compact sedan also prove the same. The existing customers of the car and the people thinking of buying the car can now be more certain about their choice, thanks to the safety ratings of the Honda Amaze.
