2022 Volkswagen Polo: Expected Price

The upcoming Volkswagen Polo likely to be launched in India will be significantly different in terms of design from the current model on sale. This will make the new Polo slightly premium over its predecessor. Thus, we can expect the top-end trim of the upcoming hatchback to touch well above Rs 11 lakhs (ex-showroom).

2022 Volkswagen Polo: Exterior Design & Interior Features

The 2022 Volkswagen Polo has been spotted doing test runs on multiple occasions in the past in Europe. From the spy images, we could clearly see that the hatchback features headlamps and tail-lamps that have been borrowed from the Mk8 Volkswagen Golf. In addition, it is also seen with a restyled front and rear bumper. On the sides, the upcoming hatchback is seen riding on newly designed alloy wheels. It will be based on the new MQB AO IN platform which also underpins the Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq mid-sized SUV's. Talking about the interior of the upcoming Polo, no details have been revealed yet. However, we can expect it to feature new technologies and a plusher cabin.

2022 Volkswagen Polo: Engine Specifications

The 2022 Volkswagen Polo Facelift is likely to be offered with multiple engine options. The 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol unit that generates 108 bhp power and 175 Nm peak torque are expected to be carried forward. Besides this, we can also expect the German automaker to offer a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine that offers two states of tunes - 129bhp & 200Nm torque and 147bhp & 250Nm torque. Furthermore, the new powertrain setup could also get a mild hybrid system that comprises a 48V Li-ion battery with belt-driven starter-alternator. At present, the VW Polo on sale is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine that churns out 75 bhp power and 95 Nm torque while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The top-end variants get a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that belts out 108bhp and 175Nm of torque. Transmission options here include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
