MG Motor India has commenced the series production of the 2022 ZS EV facelift at its Halol manufacturing unit in Gujarat. The company has also revealed some of the features of the upcoming all-electric SUV. The 2022 MG ZS EV facelift is expected to launch in the next few days in the Indian market. It will come with a 5-way charging ecosystem including free-of-cost AC fast-charger at residences /offices, portable in-car charging cable, DC superfast charging stations at dealerships, 24x7 charge-on-the-go facility (in 5 cities), and charging stations in satellite cities and tourist hubs.


As for features, the 2022 MG ZS EV facelift will get a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with first-in-segment Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity. Based on the vision of CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) mobility, it will also boast of Rear Seat Center Arm-Rest with Cupholders, Center Head-Rest and Rear Air-Conditioning vents. As for styling, it will come with a front-covered grill, and charging socket which is now placed to the left of the MG logo, sunroof and new 17-inch refreshed design alloy wheels. The front fascia will flaunt LED headlamps with DRLs and a new bumper while the rear end will feature updated tail-light design.

MG Motor introduced the ZS EV two years back in 2020 in the Indian market and more than 4000 units of the all-electric SUV have been sold. It has a market share of 27 percent in the segment where it rivals other electric SUVs like Tata Nexon and Hyundai Kona. As for the Halol production facility in Gujarat, it has an annual production capacity of 80,000 vehicles while providing employment to nearly 2,500 people. Presently, MG India has four products in its portfolio namely Hector, ZS EV, Gloster and Astor. The company has already announced that it will launch a highly affordable electric car in India which will be priced between Rs 10-15 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
