The images show the base variant of the upcoming hatchback without any camouflage in Arctic White paint shade

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new-gen Celerio hatchback next month, i.e. November 2021, in the Indian market. However, ahead of the official launch, clear images of the 2022 Maruti Celerio have emerged on the web. The spy images captured by an Instagram handle with name automobile_india1 shows the base variant of the upcoming hatchback without any camouflage in Arctic White paint shade. The 2022 Maruti Celerio will challenge the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago and Ford Figo in the Indian market.

Going by the spy images, it is evident that the new-gen model of the hatch will be presented in an all-new avatar as far as styling is concerned. It will flaunt a new grille, headlamp units and bumper upfront. There will be a chrome bar on the mesh grille connecting the headlamps. In fact, it has been learnt that the new Celerio will be bigger in size as compared to its predecessor. Underpinning the brand's tried-and-trusted HEARTECT architecture, which we have previously seen in S-Presso and Wagon R, the 2022 Maruti Celerio will ride on newly-designed alloy wheels while the rear profile will boast of fresh LED tail-lamp cluster and bumper. The window area has been increased while body-colored ORVMs will come as standard.

As for the cabin, despite being the entry-level variant, it has been equipped with features like analogue instrument console, new steering wheel and a Bluetooth-enabled music system. The higher variants are expected to feature a myriad of bells and whistles in the form of multi-functional steering wheel, automatic air conditioner, height adjustable driver seat and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mechanically, the hatch will get a new 1.0L 3-cylinder K10C Dualjet petrol engine with tweaked exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). The 2022 Maruti Celerio mileage could be around 26 kmpl which will be the highest in the segment. The gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
