Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the new age Baleno in the country. The price starts at Rs 6.35 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes as high as Rs 9.49 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the top end Alpha AGS variant. Interested buyers can also own the new Maruti Baleno through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe at an all inclusive monthly subscription fee starting from Rs 13,999. Having said that, this fee covers complete registration, service & maintenance, insurance, and RSA.
The new age Baleno is the first model to feature Neza’s crafted futurism design language. In terms of dimensions, the new age Baleno stands at 3990mm in length, 1500mm in height, and 1745mm in width. The vehicle comes with a 2520mm wheelbase. Design-wise, the vehicle features a NexWave grille upfront. In addition, it gets LED projector headlamps with Nextre’ LED DRL, LED fog lamps, 16-inch precision cut alloy wheels, and signature LED RCLs.
The cabin of the 2022 Maruti Baleno boasts of premium metallic grey accentuation on the dashboard. It further comes equipped with a plethora of new features. These include a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, head-up display, cockpit-style AC switches, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear AC vents, fast charging USB slots, and “Surround Sense” powered by ARKAYMS.
The new age Baleno is built on Suzuki’s signature Heartect platform. The Zeta and Alpha variant comes equipped with 6 airbags. The dual airbags, on the other hand, comes as standard across variants under the Nexa safety shield. Other safety features include hill hold assist, EPS, ABS with EBD, driver & co-driver seat belt reminders, rear parking sensors, high speed alert system among others. Besides Nexa Blue shade, the new Baleno is offered in Luxe Beige, Grandeur Grey, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, and Arctic White.
Performance-wise, the 2022 maruti Baleno is powered by a 1.2-litre K-series, dual-jet, dual VVT petrol unit that churns out a top power of 89 bhp at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 4400rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an improved auto gear shift gearbox. The vehicle offers a fuel efficiency of 22.35 kmpl for the manual transmission variant and 22.94 kmpl for the AGS variant.
