The 2022 KTM RC 390 has been spotted undisguised ahead of its launch

The first image of the upcoming 2022 KTM RC 390 has been leaked online, courtesy AutoCar India. It is expected to go on sale by the end of this year in the Indian market while expected to get a price tag of around Rs 2.80 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom), which is nearly Rs 10000 more expensive than the current model. The 2022 KTM RC 390 will flaunt an all-new design alongside the tweaks in platform and suspension setup. The bike will rival the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha YZF-R15 and TVS Apache RR 310 in India.

Going by the spy-image, one can clearly notice the side reflectors and rear number plate hanger. Even the paint finish on the bike indicates that it is a production-ready version. Though, we cannot see any 390 specific badging in the spy-image but the Metzeler rubber confirms that it is indeed the brand's flagship motorcycle. The dual projector headlamp of the current model has gone for a toss in favour of a single LED headlight which pays strong resemblance to the 390 Duke. The headlamp is flanked by the twin DRLs that run through the edge of the front fairing. The fuel tank appears to have grown up in size as compared to the current bike. In addition, the handlebar and foot peg positions also have been modified to make it a bit more relaxed for the rider.

The 2022 KTM RC 390 is expected to get a bolt-on subframe instead of the welded-on design. However, it will retain the upside down fork at front and directly mounted monoshock at the rear as standard suspension setup. The wheels as well as the braking system would be new with improved units. The bike is expected to carry the same 373cc single-cylinder engine as evident by the side covers and engine block in the spy-image. The power and torque figures are also believed to stay the same at 43.5bhp and 36Nm, respectively. The company, taking a leaf out of 390 Adventure's book, might add multiple premium features in the bike in the form of bi-directional quickshifter, lean angle sensitive ABS and traction control.
