The second-generation Hyundai Creta has created hype in the Indian market since its launch last year. Now Hyundai is planning to give the SUV a mid-life refresh. Recently, a test mule of the Creta facelift wrapped in heavy camouflage was caught on the camera doing test runs in Korea. The images for the same have surfaced online which further gives us a fair idea of what all changes we can expect on the updated model. Meanwhile, a render of the Creta facelift created by KDesign AG has come up. It reveals the possible changes in design on the updated Creta.
When we compare the render with the spy shots, we could see that the front fascia of the SUV receives several updates. Instead of the chrome vertically slated grille, the Hyundai Creta facelift gets a revised blacked-out grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern upfront. There is also a chrome outline that stretches across the width of the face above the grille. The lighting setup has been revised. The SUV now gets tri-beam projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The fog lights integrated within the headlamp cluster are surrounded by a gloss black treatment. The headlamp cluster positioned below the front bumper gives a bold look to the SUV. Furthermore, there is a thin faux silver-colored skid plate that is attached to the lower lip of the bumper. Talking about the side profile of the SUV, it gets a full blacked-out body cladding for the wheel arches. The door handles are body-colored. Talking about the rear end of the vehicle, proper details have not been revealed yet. However, if we go by the recent spy shots, it might get some major changes.
Performance-wise, the facelifted Creta is likely to retain the same set of powertrain options as present on the outgoing model. These include 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. Currently, the 1.5-litre petrol unit churns out 114 bhp power and 144 Nm peak torque. While the 1.5-litre oil burner generates 114 bhp power and 250 Nm peak torque. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol mill, on the other hand, kicks out 138 bhp power and 242 Nm peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, a CVT, or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Besides these, the upcoming Creta facelift might also get one or more updates in terms of mild-hybrid tech and autonomous features.
