2021 Volkswagen T-Roc to be sold in the Indian market as a fully-imported unit

Volkswagen is prepping up to re-launch the T-Roc SUV in the Indian market. The company has already listed the new SUV on its official website stating ‘Coming Soon’. Ahead of the official launch, the price of the 2021 T-Roc has been revealed online. However, it was removed immediately from the website. The introductory price stands at Rs 21.35 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Furthermore, the new price is Rs 1.36 lakh higher than the price at which the 2020 model was retailed. Interested buyers can book the SUV at a token amount of Rs 51000 while the deliveries are expected to begin by late April this year.

Design-wise, the 2021 T-Roc will feature full LED-headlamps with integrated DRLs, LED cornering lights, and fog lamps. Other design bits will include 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED tail-lights, a roof-mounted spoiler, and faux skid plates. The SUV will be offered in five dual-tone colour options - Curcuma Yellow, Energetic Orange, Indium Grey, Ravenna Blue, and Pure White, all with a black roof.

On the inside, the new T-Roc will come equipped with a plethora of features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit integrated with Apple Car Play & Android Auto, a 10.25-inch ‘virtual cockpit’ digital instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and push-button start/stop among many others. The cabin will boast ‘Vienna’ leather seats. As for safety features, the SUV will get 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, and a parking camera.

Under the hood, the 2021 T-Roc gets the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol TSI engine that generates a power output of 148 bhp at 5000-6000 rpm and a peak torque of 250 Nm at 1500-3500 rpm. Transmission duties are helmed by a 7-speed automatic DSG unit.
