The 2021 Tata Tiago NRG has been spotted at a dealership ahead of its official launch on August 4 in the Indian market. Being based on the facelifted version of the standard Tiago which was launched in early 2021, it gets SUVish styling with a body kit consisting of several sporty elements. Tata Tiago NRG will get all the features of the top-end variant of the regular hatchback. Mechanically, it will come with the same petrol engine with both manual and AMT gearbox choices. The Tiago NRG price is expected to be 20,000-30,000 higher than the range-topping variant of the standard Tiago.
Tata Tiago NRG Design & Features
Tata Tiago NRG 2021 will boast of a black cladding all around while the rear bumper will get a silver skid plate. The hatch will flaunt several exterior elements in black color such as roof rails, door handles, ORVMs and B-Pillar. In fact, the C-Pillar will also be partially blacked out. It will ride on newly designed 5-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear end will see a thick black strip integrating the tail-lamps. Inside the cabin, it will have 'NRG' badging on the seats and upholstery. Some of the notable features will include digital instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, rear view camera, height adjustable driver seat and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.
Tata Tiago NRG Engine & Gearbox
Tata Tiago NRG would be powered by the same 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine as the standard version of the hatchback. The engine will deliver top power of 85 bhp at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 113 Nm at 3300 rpm. The engine will be offered with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Just so you know, Tata Tiago has received a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. The NRG variant will come equipped with advanced safety features in the form of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD & CSC, Speed sensing auto door lock and follow-me-home headlamps.
