Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited is prepping to launch the 2021 Hayabusa in the country anytime soon. The brand released a new teaser video on its social media channels. The new Hayabusa was globally unveiled in February this year, post which the unofficial bookings had commenced in the country. There were a few dealerships that had started accepting the reservations for the new bike. As for the token amount, nothing was revealed.
Coming back to the teaser video, it says, ‘The Ultimate Sport Bike, Coming Soon in India’ along with the silhouette of the motorcycle in the centre. Furthermore, we can expect the new bike to fall in the price range of Rs 17 lakhs - Rs 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). The previous model that was brought in India via the CKD route was retailed at Rs 13.75 lakhs (ex-showroom). Besides these, the latest version of the Hayabusa comes with new features and updates. It gets the new Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) which features Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) that provides multiple riding modes. Other feature highlights include traction control, engine brake control, bi-directional quick shift system, a power mode selector, and cruise control among many others.
Mechanically, the 2021 Hayabusa will draw its power from a BS6-compliant 1340cc inline 4-cylinder engine that will generate a top power of 187 bhp and a peak torque of 150 Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 6-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the engine gets a revised intake and exhaust system. It also comes with a ride-by-wire tech.
