Chennai-based retro-classic motorcycle brand, Royal Enfield recently launched the Meteor 350 in the Indian market. Now it seems that the company is working on a 650cc cruiser based on the KX Concept. Recently, a prototype of the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan was spotted doing test runs on the roads of Chennai.
Spy shots of the same have been leaked online. In the spied images, we could only see the rear end of the bike. There were no cosmetic updates observed as such on the popular adventure tourer. However, if we go by the earlier updates, we can expect the 2021 Himalayan to sport new colour themes. Additional features like the USB charger could also be on cards. Furthermore, the motorcycle could also feature the new tripper navigation system similar to the one present on the newly launched Meteor 350.
Mechanically, the upcoming 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan will continue to draw power from the same 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. In its current form, the motor generates a maximum power of 24.3 bhp and a peak torque of 32 Nm while being linked to a 5-speed unit. However, we can expect the engine in the upcoming two-wheeler to produce more power and torque.
Royal Enfield is planning to introduce new products every 4 months in 2021. The Chennai-based bikemaker is currently working on a new Royal Enfield Interceptor. The bike was caught doing test runs a few days ago. It is speculated to be a 350cc model of the retro-styled cruiser. In addition to new product introductions, the company is also planning to expand its manufacturing presence in strategic markets.
