Range Rover and Range Rover Sport would get a new 3.0L diesel engine.

Jaguar Land Rover is bringing new engines for the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. A new family of 3.0-litre straight-six cylinder Ingenium diesel engines will replace the older 3.0-litre V6 and the 4.4-litre V8 diesel units. The engine will be available with three power outputs- 245 bhp, 296 bhp and 345 bhp. The 2021 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will be powered by a new 3.0-litre straight-six 48-volt mild-hybrid diesel engine.

The New Ingenium diesel engines are based on Jaguar Land Rover’s modular aluminium engine architecture. The new in-line diesel engines are smoother and refined than the older generation diesel engines. The new diesel engines will comply with the world’s stringent emissions standards. The engines would meet the Real Driving Emissions Step 2 (RDE2) standards. The RDE2 deals with nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, thus making the Land Rover among the few luxury and performance SUVs to come with RDE2 certified diesel engines. The Ingenium range of 6 cylinder diesel engines would feature 48V mild-hybrid technology.

The P400e is the most efficient engine of the 2021 Range Rover line-up. With a fully electric, zero-emissions range of 40kms, the P400e total power output is 437 bhp. The four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine delivers 296 bhp of power while the electric motor churns out 141 bhp of power output.  The standard Mode 3 charging cable will fully charge the electric battery under three hours.

For the Indian market, 2021 Range Rover will be available in SWB, LWB and Special editions. It will be made available with the engine options of either a 3.0-litre MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) petrol or a 3.0-litre MHEV diesel. The 2021 Range Rover Sport will be available in six derivatives and will be offered with 2.0L petrol, 3.0L diesel and 5.0L Supercharged petrol powertrain options.

The new Ingenium diesel engine for India is a D300 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit. The 3.0-litre engine will deliver 296 bhp of power and 650Nm of torque with the help of a 48V mild-hybrid system. The first petrol engine to be offered in the Indian market will be the P300 2.0-litre four-cylinder motor. The engine will deliver 296 bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque. The second petrol option will be a P575 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine. The powerful engine belts out a massive 567 bhp of power and 700Nm of peak torque.
