MG Hector Plus 7-seater Select variant comes loaded with first-in-segment features

MG Motors launched the 7-seater Hector Plus a few days back in India. The SUV is offered in a total of 3 variants - Style, Super, and Smart. Now the company has introduced a new ‘Select’ variant at Rs 18.32 lakhs(ex-showroom). It sits above the Smart trim. 




Dubbed as an ‘Internet SUV’, the 7-seater Hector Plus Select variant comes loaded with segment-first features. These include a panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging, 6-way power adjust driver seat, leather seats, a 10.4-inch HD screen, 4 airbags, Internet Car-Connected features, 18-inch alloy wheels and an Infinity premium audio system. 

Despite being priced the same as the 5-seater Hector Sharp variant, the 7-seater Hector Plus Select variant misses out on certain features. These include a 360-degree camera, electric tailgate, a fully digital speedometer, 6 airbags, heated ORVMs, auto headlamps & auto wipers, powered front co-passenger seat, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting. 




Besides these, the rest of the features and design bits remain the same as the standard variant. MG has updated the i-Smart. This time it comes with the Hinglish voice command. The internet SUV can now easily understand & respond to 35+ Hinglish commands that control various in-car functions such as Sunroof (“Khul Ja Sim Sim”), FM (“FM Chalao”), AC (“Temperature Kam Kar do”) among many more.

Furthermore, the SUV comes equipped with an engine start alarm and an in-car voice alert for critical tyre pressure. The safety kit comprises ESP, traction control, hill hold control, rear wiper & washer, and rear defogger.




Under the bonnet, it is offered with three engine options. A 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 48V mild hybrid linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 2.0-litre diesel unit, on the other hand, can be availed with a 6-speed manual gearbox. While the 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor is paired to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT automatic transmissions.
