It will come only with visual updates while being launched in the next few months in India

Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch a slew of new SUVs this year in the Indian market. These new SUVs include the Scorpio facelift, the all-new XUV700 and the 2021 Bolero facelift. Recently, our friends at Team-BHP were able to get the first clear image of the upcoming 2021 Mahindra Bolero facelift. The SUV will come only with visual updates while being launched in the next few months in the country. The 2021 Bolero facelift has no direct rival in India as the Force Gurkha has not been introduced yet in a BS6 avatar.

Going by the spy-image, the biggest update that one can notice is the dual-tone paint scheme. The front fascia, in particular the bumper, has been finished in a grey color which fits well with the red color of the SUV. It is expected to get many more such dual-tone paint options. Though, the design of the front grille and bumper has been carried over from the ongoing model but the headlamps seem to be partially restyled. Also, one can see that the spied mule misses out on the front fog lamps and roof rails while comprising of black ORVMs instead of body-colored units. It is safe to assume that the mule spotted here could be the entry-level variant in the Bolero's lineup.

The interior is also said to have gone under major overhaul with updates made to the upholstery and infotainment system. Though presently, we do not have a clear image of the cabin. Mechanically, it has been learnt that the company has made no updates to the SUV as it will continue to be powered by the same BS6 compliant 1.5L 4-cylinder diesel engine. This powerplant churns out a top power of 75bhp and peak torque of 210Nm while linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox with power being transmitted to the front wheels. The Bolero is one of the most successful nameplates in Mahindra's portfolio, especially in the rural areas. The SUV enjoys an average monthly sales of 4000-5000 units since its launch in the Indian market.
