The Japanese two-wheeler giant, Kawasaki has launched the new Ninja ZX 10R at Rs 14.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. It was globally unveiled last year. The latest iteration of the litre-class supersport bike comes with a plethora of changes. It is available in two colors - Lime Green and Flat Ebony Type 2.

The 2021 Ninja ZX 10R looks sharper than its predecessor. The bike comes with all-LED lighting, an aerodynamic upper cowl, a new tail cowl design, and updated handlebar & footpeg positions. The bikemaker has used integrated winglets into the structure of the cowling. The feature highlight is the Bluetooth-enabled TFT colour instrumentation. In terms of electronics, the new Ninja ZX 10R gets electronic cruise control, KLCM (Kawasaki Launch Control Mode), Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function), S-KTRC (Sport-Kawasaki Traction control), KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System), and KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter). Besides these, the bike comes with four riding modes - Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider.

Mechanically, the new Ninja ZX 10R draws its power from a 998cc inline 4-cylinder engine that churns out 200 bhp power at 13,200rpm and 114.9 Nm peak torque at 11,400rpm. The power output can further be increased to 210 bhp with RAM air intake. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It further comes with redesigned intake ports and valve train, titanium intake and exhaust valves, Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating on finger-followers, and dry film lubricant on the piston skirts. Besides these, the bike comes with an electronic throttle valve, an updated exhaust system, and a new air-cooled oil cooler based on the feedback from Kawasaki’s WorldSBK race machine.
