The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift is expected to launch in the Indian market by the end of this year or early 2021.

The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift was finally unveiled late night yesterday with cosmetic and mechanical updates. The SUV also gets a plethora of new features and technologies. It is expected to launch in the Indian market by the end of this year or early 2021. The Jeep Compass facelift will take on the likes of Skoda Karoq, Volkswagen T-Roc, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in India. The Italian automaker will also roll out a plug-in-hybrid variant at a later stage.

The global model of 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has been introduced in five trim levels: Sport, Longitude, Night Eagle, Limited and S. The exterior updates are subtle in the form of a redesigned honeycomb mesh at the front with the traditional seven-slat Jeep grille. The reworked LED headlamps with DRLs and tweaked front bumper sum up the updates at the front. The side profile is majorly retained from the ongoing model except for the newly designed alloy wheels with sizes of 16-19 inch. The cabin features a premium upholstery while equipped with an even bigger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The touchscreen unit is also compatible with the company's latest UConnect 5 technology.

Mechanically, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The company has introduced a new 1.3L four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged petrol engine in place of the existing 1.4L engine. It will develop top power of 126bhp with a 6-speed manual transmission while it will belt out maximum power of 146bhp when paired with a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The torque performance will remain the same at 270Nm with both the manual and automatic variants. Jeep might introduce this petrol motor with the India-spec model. The diesel variants will draw power from a 1.6L Multijet II unit with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) while generating 116bhp and 320Nm. Though, the India-spec model would continue to be powered by the existing BS6 compliant 2.0L diesel engine.
