The facelifted version comes with subtle cosmetic updates and the test mule spotted testing confirmed that.

The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift had its world premiere a few days back and now the SUV has been spotted testing on Indian roads. The current model has been on sale for the last three years since its launch in 2017 and is the only major product sold by FCA Group in the country. The facelifted version had subtle cosmetic updates and the test mule spotted testing confirmed that. Mechanically, it will remain the same while expected to launch around the festive season of October-November this year in the Indian market.

Going by the spy-shots, the heavily camouflaged test mule was riding on 5-spoke alloy wheels while no other major cosmetic update was visible. Though, as clear by the official images, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will flaunt a refreshed mesh layout for the seven-slat front grille. The LED fog lamps and dual exhaust pipes have been retained from the present model. Though, the company is expected to introduce a plethora of new paint schemes and wheel patterns. The cabin will boast of the latest version of 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UConnect 5.0 which is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. The UConnect 5.0 enables the owner to pre-adjust the air conditioner and remote engine-start.

Mechanically, the 2021 Jeep Compass will be powered by the same BS6 compliant 2.0L diesel engine which develops 170bhp and 350Nm. This tried-and-trusted Fiat engine also powers Tata Harrier and MG Hector, which are two of the arch rivals of the Compass. However, the company has introduced a new 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine for the various international markets. This engine produces power and torque in two tunes: 128bhp/270Nm and 148bhp/270Nm. The transmission options available are a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed DCT unit. The India-spec Jeep Compass might not get this new engine as the company has updated the 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine to BS6 emission norms recently which generates maximum power of 161bhp and peak torque of 250Nm.
