The compact SUV segment is where the majority of the action seems to be concentrated given that more and more customers are wanting to get one of such vehicles for themselves. On that note, the Jeep Compass which has been around in the market for sometime is due for a facelift. Scheduled to arrive on Indian shores by 2021, we have got our hands on the first set of images of the upcoming compact SUV that were recently leaked online. But before it arrives in India, 2020 Jeep Compass Facelift will be unveiled at the Guangzhou Salon in China on the 22nd of November 2020.

Seeing these first sets of images what we can tell you is that the Jeep Compass Facelift will be a mark-up from its predecessor. What it would offer is an enhanced exterior design, interior upgrades and a new 1.3-litre turbo-charged petrol engine. First talking about the design, then in comparison to the previous version; the facelift upfront features a redesigned 7-slat grille and headlamps. What we do expect is that the top-spec version could come equipped with full-LED headlamps that offer LED daytime running lights in its new outlook (headlights being more angular in design). The bumper present here is totally new as it provides a dual-tone scheme. Moving to the sides, its silhouette remains the same but the dimensions are said to be altered. Thus the Compass Facelift is expected to be 9mm longer and 17mm taller in comparison to the older model. Its updated measurements stand at 4424mm in length, 1819mm in width and 1652mm in height. As for the rear, the SUV will get refreshed tail lights with new inserts and a new bumper.

Talking about the interior, it is going to be significantly different to what we have seen before. From the leaked image, it is clear that the SUV will feature a new-designed dashboard. Elements like the instrument cluster will also be new while the center console provides a new 10-inch infotainment system alongside a 360 degree camera. Some of the other equipment on-board this compact SUV could include traffic jam assist, highway assist, traffic sign recognition, active blind-spot assist among other features. Now onto the powertrain options, the 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift is likely to offer a1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine alongside a 2.0-litre diesel unit. Starting with petrol, this turbocharged unit is expected to deliver a maximum power output of 180 bhp with 285 Nm of peak torque and should come mated with a CVT gearbox. As for the diesel, it is the tried and tested 2.0-litre oil mill that produces 173 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. It is being speculated that the engine could be worked upon to provide higher fuel efficiency.
