Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the 2021 CBR650R and CB650R in the country today. The former is priced at Rs 8.88 lakhs and the latter is retailed at Rs 8.67 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). Bookings for both bikes have opened from today onwards. Interested buyers can easily get the bikes booked at its exclusive premium dealerships across the country. Furthermore, they will be brought to India via the CKD route. The Neo-Sports Cafe inspired, CB650R makes its debut in the Indian market.
Design-wise, the CBR650R features dual LED headlights with new reflectors lights and a sleek LED tail-light while the CB650R comes with a circular LED headlight along with a sharp black bezel. Here the tail-light is positioned above the steel number plate mount. The feature highlight is the digital LCD instrument cluster that provides information such as gear position, dual trip metre, digital speedometer, digital clock, and digital fuel level gauge & fuel consumption gauge.
As for safety features, the bikes get the new smart ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) technology and a new Honda Ignition Security System (HISS). In terms of color options, the CBR650R is offered in Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic while the CB650R is available in Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
Performance-wise, both models are powered by a 648.72cc in-line four-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that churns out 77 bhp power at 12,000 rpm and 57.5 Nm peak torque at 8500 rpm. The motor is further linked to a six-speed gearbox with an assist/slipper clutch. Talking about suspensions, both bikes get Showa Separate Function-Big Piston (SSF-BP) USD front forks and a mono-shock setup at the rear. The braking duties are taken care of by 310mm double discs upfront and 240mm single disc towards the rear coupled up with dual-channel ABS.
