2020 Nissan Kicks

Nissan India had announced the BS6 update for the Nissan Kicks SUV. Recently, it released the first set of details regarding the engine specifications pertaining to this SUV. The 2020 Nissan Kicks will now get a more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that will produce 156 bhp of power output with 254 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come mated to a new X-Tronic CVT gearbox along with an eight-step manual mode.

Also known as HR13DDT, the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 at Nissan’s alliance partner Renault’s stand. The engine uses a cylinder coating technology that has been borrowed from the mighty Nissan GT-R's engine. The technology helps to boost the efficiency of the engine and offers higher fuel efficiency along with performance. The next-generation Nissan X-Tronic CVT offers 40 percent less friction contributing to higher fuel economy and acceleration response.

“The all-new Nissan KICKS 2020 is built with Japanese engineering and technology and has high build quality with purposeful and intelligent technology with class-leading premium-ness. The New Nissan KICKS is powered by best-in-class turbo engine and best-in-class X-Tronic CVT offering higher fuel economy and acceleration,” commented Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India.

The 2020 Nissan Kicks is expected to offer features like automatic climate control and cruise control, along with safety features like multiple airbags, ABS and Hill-Start Assist, to name a few. Once launched, the BS6 Nissan Kicks will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, and the updated Renault Captur that is soon to be launched.
